My Last Moments

When judge Chris Oostdam was diagnosed with an aggressive type of cancer leaving her only months to live, Dutch daily Volkskrant asked her to reflect on her last moments in a weekly column for their Volkskrant V supplement. I drew a series of portraits to head the columns. After some months, her diagnosis improved omewhat and she stopped writing – everything had been said. Chris died two years later.
