Maredsous Abbey

The monks of the beautiful Maredsous Abbey have been welcoming visitors for a thousand years. When Dutch daily De Volkskrant commissioned travel journalist Noël van Bemmel to write an article about the abbey, he asked me to accompany him in stead of a photographer to sketch my impressions during our stay.  I captured monks in contemplation, details of mediaeval architecture and the landscape, and made a portrait of Noël.
